18 Fields Including Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscaping, Safety, and Environment
Two-Year Term, Responsible for Review, Evaluation, and Advisory Duties
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) has completed the formation of the '11th Technical Advisory Committee,' which will serve for a two-year term from September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2026.
This new committee was established as the term of the previous Technical Advisory Committee, formed in 2022, expired at the end of August. The committee consists of 149 members across 18 fields, including civil engineering, architecture, environment, landscaping, mechanical engineering, and safety.
The committee is a statutory body established under the 'Construction Technology Promotion Act' and is responsible for evaluating, advising, and deliberating on the appropriateness of various aspects such as design and construction of construction projects promoted by the corporation.
To select committee members, BMC accepted open applications until the end of July and finalized the selection through procedures such as the Technical Advisory Committee Recommendation Committee. The list of committee members is available on the corporation's website.
Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, "The Technical Advisory Committee is an important organization that performs a practical decision-making function in the specialized areas of the corporation's operations," and added, "We expect the newly formed committee to contribute to preventing poor construction and safety accidents based on expertise and integrity."
