Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it participated in the "2nd Hometown Love Day Event" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, held at the HwaBaek Convention Center in Gyeongju, and actively promoted the Jinju City Hometown Love Donation Program.
"Hometown Love Day," designated as September 4th every year, is a statutory commemorative day established by the government through a nationwide contest to share the importance and value of one's hometown. This year marks its second anniversary.
Jinju City is intensively promoting the Hometown Love Donation Program in celebration of the "Hometown Love Day."
This year's event featured a variety of programs aimed at revitalizing the Hometown Love Donation Program, including a commemorative ceremony, a donor appreciation dinner, an academic forum, a workshop for program managers, and a best practices competition.
At the event, the city operated a promotional booth, providing information on how to donate and the benefits of the program, displaying and offering samples of return gifts, and hosting various events such as giving Hamo goods to donors on site. These activities helped create an atmosphere that encouraged interest in Jinju and participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program.
Additionally, the city actively promoted Jinju's tourism by introducing its representative festivals to visitors from all over the country, including the "Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival," the "Gaecheon Arts Festival," and the "Drama Festival," all of which will be held around Namgang from October 5th to 20th.
A city official stated, "In September, when Chuseok makes us miss our hometowns even more, we hope that people who have left Jinju will join the Hometown Love Donation Program and support the development of their hometown together."
