Hapcheon County Holds Policy Council for Agriculture, Rural Areas, and Food Industry

Legal Plans Established and Implemented Every Five Years

Hapcheon County, Gyeongnam, held a final report meeting for the “Five-Year Development Plan for Agriculture, Rural Communities, and the Food Industry in Hapcheon County” in the small conference room of the county office.

Hapcheon County is conducting the Agricultural, Rural, and Food Industry Policy Review Committee meeting.

The development plan for agriculture, rural communities, and the food industry is a statutory plan established and implemented every five years in accordance with the Framework Act on Agriculture, Rural Community, and Food Industry. It is a comprehensive plan that presents the mid- to long-term vision and strategies for the region's agriculture and food industry.

The report meeting, held on the 9th, was attended by 37 people, including County Governor Kim Yuncheol, members of the Policy Deliberation Committee for Agriculture, Rural Communities, and the Food Industry composed of five subcommittees, and heads of related departments.

Hapcheon County has established six strategic tasks based on the vision of “Advanced Agriculture, Pleasant Rural Communities, and Collaborative Farmers”: ▲Strengthening food security ▲Establishing a foundation for future agri-food ▲Revitalizing the rural economy ▲Creating attractive rural spaces ▲Improving residents' quality of life ▲Enhancing local leadership in agricultural policy.

In particular, reflecting local conditions, the county formulated a mid- to long-term development plan aimed at “realizing a prosperous rural community where everyone thrives,” focusing on population inflow and fostering the younger generation based on the formation of living (relationship) populations, as well as preparing measures to address food security and the climate change crisis.

Governor Kim stated, “Through this plan, we will present the direction and vision for the development of Hapcheon agriculture, and do our utmost to lead our county’s agriculture in a pioneering way by ensuring harmony with the ‘Vision 2040 Hapcheon County Long-term Comprehensive Development Plan.’”
