Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) held the "1st Dobong-gu Community Security Policy Incubating Start-up Proposal Presentation" on August 29.
The event aimed to discover welfare policies tailored to the district's characteristics and to derive citizen-experienced projects through public-private cooperation.
Six working subcommittees of the Dobong-gu Community Security Council participated in the presentation. Prior to the event, the subcommittees monitored the district's welfare projects and identified new projects by subcommittee.
The proposed policies presented at the event included ▲ "Second Life Celebration Package" (Senior Citizens Subcommittee) ▲ "Dobong News Production in Native Languages for Foreign Residents in Dobong" (Women’s Subcommittee) ▲ "November 11 is Solo Day: Visiting One-Person Life Market" (Single-Person Household Subcommittee) ▲ "Consulting Education for Caregivers of Children with Borderline Intellectual Functioning" (Childcare and Care Subcommittee), among others.
The evaluation was conducted on-site by about 60 people, including representatives from the Dobong-gu Community Security Representative Council and Working Council, as well as heads of local welfare organizations.
Creativity, effectiveness, and feasibility were assessed, and ultimately, the Childcare and Care Subcommittee’s "Consulting Education for Caregivers of Children with Borderline Intellectual Functioning" was selected as the 2025 Dobong-type Welfare Incubating Project. Budget and other support will be provided for the project’s implementation.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "I hope this presentation strengthened public-private cooperation and reflected the actual needs of residents regarding Dobong-gu’s welfare policies," adding, "We will spare no necessary support to ensure that the selected projects contribute to bringing positive changes to the local community."
