Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has launched an online pre-contest ahead of the '2024 Neungdong-ro Fashion Festival.'

The Neungdong-ro Fashion Festival is a youth fashion event held in collaboration with local universities, taking place on the 26th of this month at the special stage in Konkuk University’s Taste Street. This year’s festival will feature the graduation fashion show 'Prototype 2024,' with 54 participants from Konkuk University’s Department of Fashion Design.

Prior to the event, Gwangjin-gu is conducting an online contest for fashion show entries until the 13th. Anyone interested in fashion can access the social network (SNS) accounts, view works by about 50 student designers, and vote for their favorite pieces.

Votes can be cast by using the ‘Like’ function on the posts, and voters who verify their participation will be entered into a draw to receive coffee coupons.

After the voting period ends, Gwangjin-gu will combine expert judging (20%) and online voting results (80%) to select the top three winners. On the day of the event, certificates and prize money of 500,000 KRW for first place, 300,000 KRW for second place, and 200,000 KRW for third place will be awarded. The prize money and coffee coupons are sponsored by the Konkuk University Shopping District Promotion Association.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “We have prepared a fashion festival at Neungdong-ro Konkuk University Taste Street, a major commercial area in Gwangjin-gu, where people of various ages can enjoy together. We will continue to actively communicate with young people and do our best to promote mutual growth between the local community and universities.”
