Kyungnam College of Information & Technology successfully held the 5th CCF (Creative Convergence Forum) on the 7th at the Centum Campus Convention Hall in Haeundae.
This Creative Convergence Forum was themed "The Future of Design Through AI" and featured special lectures and discussions with top creators leading the Korean design industry, including Plus X, CBR GRAPHIC, COMPOUND COLLECTIVE, ARCHIMOSPHERE, and BKID.
The special lectures were delivered in the following order: Byun Sabeom, Advisor of PLUS X - Image Generation Using Generative AI; Chae Byeongrok, CEO of CBR GRAPHIC - Graphic Design Using Generative AI; Jeon Ian, CEO of COMPOUND COLLECTIVE - Video Design Using Generative AI; Park Kyungsik, Director of ARCHIMOSPHERE - Spatial Design Using Generative AI; Song Bonggyu, CEO of BKID - Product Design Using Generative AI; and Jeong Giyeong, Creative Director of PLUS X - BX Design Using Generative AI.
The university provided online access to the forum this year to offer more opportunities for local students and citizens to participate, following the high interest shown during last year's event. As a result, more than 4,000 people participated nationwide. The 320 offline seats were fully booked within two days.
In particular, this year's CCF was held in collaboration with the design education platform 'SHARE X', making the event even more enriching.
On the day of the event, not only students from Busan but also high school and university students from Seoul who are interested in design participated, leading to a heated discussion during the Q&A session.
Choi Dongcheol, Professor of the Department of Visual Design, who planned the CCF event, said, "We are striving to instill creative design sensibility and a spirit of challenge in students by inviting the best panelists, who are rarely gathered in one place."
CCF has been held successfully since 2020 as part of the College Innovation Support Project at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, inviting renowned domestic panelists to enhance students' global mindset and serve as a bridge for Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam citizens to access information that is usually concentrated in the metropolitan area. The Department of Visual Design, established in 1972, boasts a long history and tradition as the first of its kind among universities in the Busan area.
President Kim Taesang said, "CCF is a product of our university's unique drive for change and innovation, aimed at sharing knowledge and information with many people," adding, "We will fulfill our social responsibility as an educational institution that brings the joy of learning to students and citizens."
