A lecture room has been named after Dankook University Professor Emeritus Lee Junggu, who donated 100 million won from his personal pension to support his juniors.
Professor Emeritus Lee Junggu (83), a world-renowned authority on the treatment of dizziness, donated 100 million won to the university's development fund last March, expressing his desire to support the dreams of young doctors.
To honor Professor Lee's wishes, Dankook University designated Room 334 in the Medical Building as the 'Lee Junggu Lecture Room' and held a naming ceremony on the 7th.
Professor Emeritus Lee Junggu said, "My wife and I were founding members of Dankook University Hospital in 1994, and because it was Dankook that brought us together, I thought it was only right to give back that love to the Dankook community. Wanting to support the dreams of young doctors who are the future leaders, I decided to donate the 100 million won pension I had saved over 20 years during my tenure at Dankook University."
President Ahn Sooncheol stated, "We are deeply grateful for the professor's noble intentions and dedication to his juniors. The university will do its utmost to carry on his spirit and help future generations grow into outstanding talents."
