'Gangwon Shotgun Trekking Open in Donghae'
Over 1,000 Participants Walk from Mukho Port to Mangsang Beach
Although the midday heat still feels like summer, the East Coast offers a sense of autumn in the mornings and evenings. Last Saturday (the 7th), the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) and the Gangwon Tourism Foundation (CEO Choi Sung-hyun) hosted the ‘Gangwon Shotgun Trekking Open in Donghae’ event, which was attended by about 1,000 walking enthusiasts.
On the 7th, participants are happily starting the 'Gangwon Shotgun Trekking Open in Donghae' walking event held on the Haepalang-gil Course 34 from Mukho Port to Mangsang Beach. Participants in this walking event strolled along the Haeparang-gil Course 34 area (Mukho Port to Mangsang Beach), a premium walking course on the East Coast, experiencing the beautiful scenery of Donghae and taking time to heal their tired bodies and minds from busy daily life.
The Haeparang-gil Course 34 is a walking trail along the coastline of Donghae City, featuring Mukho Lighthouse located halfway up Mukho-dong mountain and Mangsang Beach, designated as National Tourist Site No. 2, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Donghae.
Along with the trekking event, there were prize draws and caricature events. Additionally, a portion of the participation fee was refunded to participants in Gangwon gift certificates, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
On the 7th, participants are walking the Haepalanggil Course 34 at the 'Gangwon Shotgun Trekking Open in Donghae' event hosted by Gangwon Province and the Gangwon Tourism Foundation. Choi Sung-hyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Foundation, said, “We hope that more trekking enthusiasts will visit Gangwon’s walking trails through the upcoming Shotgun Trekking Certification Challenge this fall,” adding, “We will continue to prepare various programs to ensure that walking travelers from across the country visit steadily.”
