Financial Supervisory Service Promotes Prevention of Financial Crimes Affecting Livelihoods Ahead of Chuseok
The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) will promote various public awareness activities to prevent financial crimes affecting people's livelihoods (illegal private loans, investment fraud, voice phishing) through cooperation with related organizations around the Chuseok holiday.
First, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Small Enterprise and Market Service, tailored education on preventing financial crimes affecting people's livelihoods will be provided to unemployed benefit recipients and small business owners (including prospective entrepreneurs) facing financial difficulties. The education will clearly explain the main methods of financial fraud and illegal private loans that job seekers in urgent need of funds are vulnerable to, along with prevention tips. Additionally, videos on preventing voice phishing, illegal lending, and investment fraud will be posted on the Small Business Knowledge Learning Center and the GongsaJangTV YouTube channel.
To mark 'Youth Day (September 21)' and 'Senior Citizens Day (October 2)', promotional booths will be set up at events such as the Youth Policy Expo and the National Senior Job Expo, where counseling and education on preventing financial crimes affecting people's livelihoods will be conducted through various events.
Furthermore, during September and October, public service announcement videos on preventing financial crimes affecting people's livelihoods will be broadcast using outdoor electronic billboards located in local governments nationwide with high foot traffic.
An FSS official explained, "The FSS, together with related organizations, will directly communicate with youth, the elderly, small business owners, and job seekers to provide tailored education and publicity, thereby raising public awareness and contributing to the prevention of financial crimes affecting people's livelihoods."
