'Pocheon Citizens' Ideas Become Policy'
'A Happy City Being Born' and 4 Other Areas
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) has launched the "2024 Communicative Policy Proposal Contest" from the 9th to October 2nd to discover diverse and innovative policy ideas from citizens.
This contest was prepared to identify policy ideas related to the development of city administration and to reflect them in future policies.
The contest covers four areas: a happy city being born, a citizen-centered open city, a growing economic city, and a tourism city to revisit. Anyone interested in Pocheon city administration can apply.
Applications can be submitted via the National Idea Platform (www.epeople.go.kr/idea) or by checking the Pocheon City Hall website (www.pocheon.go.kr) under the Notices section, then submitting the required documents by email (sonamoo0709@korea.kr), mail, or in person to the Pocheon City Planning and Budget Division [(11147) 87 Jungang-ro, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do (Sineup-dong)].
The city will focus on criteria such as creativity, economic feasibility, sustainability, scope of application, and effort to score the proposals, then award prizes based on scores: Gold Prize (2 million KRW), Silver Prize (1.3 to 1.5 million KRW), Bronze Prize (800,000 to 1 million KRW), and Encouragement Prize (300,000 to 500,000 KRW).
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, "Under the city administration philosophy that 'the answer lies in the voice of the citizens,' we have launched this contest to reflect citizens' opinions in policies," adding, "We hope that this contest will lead to policies that citizens can feel more directly."
