Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 9th that it received 4,000 kg of "Love Gyeongbuk Rice" produced in the province from Gyeongbuk Nonghyup.
This rice donation was carried out as part of the "Eat Breakfast to Promote Rice Consumption" business agreement signed between the Gyeongbuk Office of Education and Gyeongbuk Nonghyup on the 19th of last month.
The rice delivered at this event, which was organized to foster breakfast-eating habits, promote the consumption of Gyeongbuk rice, and support field education for nurturing future talents in Gyeongbuk, is worth approximately 10 million KRW. It will be distributed sequentially through the Gyeongbuk Regional School Meal Center to 10 schools, including Gyeongbuk Physical Education Middle and High School and special schools, by the end of September.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education expects that the campaign to promote breakfast and the consumption of Gyeongbuk rice will contribute to the formation of healthy eating habits among students and the expansion of rice consumption. In addition, the savings from rice purchase costs through this support will be used to improve the quality of school meals.
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, said, "We deeply appreciate the rice support from Gyeongbuk Nonghyup. Through this donation ceremony, we will further vitalize the consumption of Gyeongbuk rice, and both institutions will continue to cooperate to help students form healthy eating habits."
