"Moon, I Did Not Make Him Lie"
Amid the prosecution's investigation into allegations of preferential hiring involving former President Moon Jae-in's ex-son-in-law, former Blue House Protocol Secretary Tak Hyun-min said, "If someone bites my president, I have no choice but to bite back."
On the 8th, Tak posted a photo on his Facebook showing former President Moon and his wife Kim Jung-sook smiling brightly, saying, "If I could, I would want to keep this smile for a long time."
He stated, "People have principles and loyalty. Life can be tough and circumstances difficult, so one may not always fulfill their principles. That can happen anytime," but he pointed out, "Loyalty is different. It is not a matter of circumstances but an attitude toward life."
Referring to former President Moon, Tak said, "My president has never once made me tell a 'lie' since I got to know him," adding, "He never made me a fool who has to say, 'I don't know' or 'I don't remember.' This is why I trust President Moon Jae-in."
He also said, "Even if I am dragged back to the fringes of real politics because of these thoughts and writings, this is why I want to keep this smile for a long time."
Meanwhile, the Criminal Division 3 of the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Han Yeon-gyu) conducted a search and seizure on the 30th of last month at three locations, including the Seoul residence and Jeju villa of Dahye, former President Moon's daughter. It is understood that the warrant named former President Moon as a suspect who received bribes worth approximately 223 million won.
The prosecution believes that former President Moon's then-son-in-law, Mr. Seo, was employed as an executive director at Thai Starjet in July 2018 and moved to Thailand, after which economic support for Dahye and her husband was discontinued. They consider the salary and relocation expenses Mr. Seo received from the airline, where he was employed until April 2020 for about 20 months, as bribes.
