The streaming platform SOOP announced on the 9th that it conducted an environmental cleanup volunteer activity titled "You and I, Nurturing the Forest Together" around Namhansanseong Park located in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province.
This volunteer activity was carried out in collaboration with the Seongnam Volunteer Center and the Namhansanseong Environmental Volunteer Group. At SOOP, a total of 30 popular streamers including OmeKimSeunghyun2, Osebeulli, and Ssehi, along with 20 employees, participated in the cleanup efforts.
Han Hosang, Head of Volunteer Coordination at the Seongnam Volunteer Center, said, "To improve the environment of our local community, the Seongnam Volunteer Center and SOOP will continue to create opportunities to connect and cooperate through volunteer activities."
Lee Minwon, Head of SOOP's Social Media Business Division, stated, "SOOP will continue various CSR activities, including volunteer work, to fulfill the company's social responsibilities."
Through consistent volunteer activities, SOOP practices social responsibility and especially strives to spread a culture of volunteering via the domestic streaming service AfreecaTV.
The "Saving Hangang Ecological Park" content held on Arbor Day recorded a peak concurrent viewership of about 25,000 and a total of 300,000 viewers on the day. The "You and I, The Forest We Create Together" volunteer activity also attracted a peak concurrent viewership of 30,000 and a cumulative 200,000 viewers.
