Hamyang County Implements Comprehensive Measures for a Safe and Comfortable Chuseok Holiday

By the 18th, 15 Detailed Plans in 4 Major Areas to Be Prepared to Minimize Inconvenience for Residents

Hamyang County in Gyeongnam will implement the "Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Plan" from September 6 to 18 to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere during the Chuseok holiday.

During this period, the county will establish a constant response system based on 15 detailed action plans in four main areas: ▲a thoroughly safe holiday ▲stabilization of the livelihood of ordinary citizens and the spread of a sharing culture ▲resolution of inconveniences in residents' daily lives ▲establishment of public service discipline.

First, the county will operate an emergency duty system with 28 staff members from 11 teams, including those in charge of the planning and audit office's comprehensive situation room and staff from 11 towns and townships, to respond quickly to various incidents, accidents, and civil complaints, minimizing inconvenience for residents.

To prevent various safety accidents such as disasters during the Chuseok holiday, a disaster and accident response team will be operated. The county will also actively manage situations through pre-typhoon prediction and rapid information dissemination, and implement strong wildfire prevention measures during the holiday period.

Additionally, an emergency quarantine response team will be operated to maintain a system to deal with emergencies such as outbreaks of infectious diseases. Public medical institutions, emergency medical centers, on-duty hospitals and clinics, and pharmacies will be designated to minimize gaps in medical services.

The county will also run a Chuseok holiday price stabilization situation room to monitor prices and the price labeling system, and plans to boost the local economy through campaigns to encourage the use of traditional markets and a special Chuseok discount event for the Hamyang Love Gift Certificate.

In particular, to support vulnerable groups and promote a culture of sharing during the Chuseok holiday, the county will actively work to strengthen the social safety net and foster a warm holiday atmosphere by visiting low-income elderly households, enhancing safety checks for seniors living alone, and visiting social welfare facilities and marginalized neighbors.

Emergency measures have also been prepared to minimize inconveniences for residents regarding water supply, sewage, gas, and household waste during the holiday period.

To resolve inconveniences related to water supply and sewage for residents during the holiday, the county has prepared emergency plans and inspections for water and sewage facilities. Emergency teams will be operated for timely disposal and collection of household waste, enforcement against illegal dumping will be strengthened, and a rapid waste collection system will be established to prevent waste accumulation during the holiday.

With many people expected to return to Hamyang for the holiday, a special transportation situation room will be operated to manage traffic flow and ensure safe driving during the holiday, supporting both tourists and returning residents.

For the convenience of residents, unmanned civil document issuance machines (located at the county office, Hamyang-eup, and the Macheon, Sudong, Anui, and Seosang township offices) will be inspected in advance. Emergency civil complaints will be received and processed through the comprehensive situation room to minimize inconvenience.

County Governor Jin Byungyeong stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that residents and returning visitors can enjoy a safe and happy Chuseok holiday by actively implementing comprehensive measures closely related to the safety and daily lives of our residents."
