September 28-29, 12 PM to 9:30 PM Street Parade Festival Held

Nowon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will hold the 2024 'Dancing Nowon' Street Festival over two days on September 28 and 29.
'Dancing Nowon' is a newly revamped festival of the existing 'Nowon Tal Festival' after 10 years. Since its first event last year, which recorded about 124,000 participants and ended successfully, this year the program has been expanded and efforts have been made to strengthen the festival's identity.
In particular, this year, 'Poppin Hyun-jun' has been appointed as the ambassador and dance director to lead the festival. They plan to welcome visitors with various dance contents that cover all age groups.
Dancing Nowon will take place on September 28 and 29 from 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM along a 555-meter section from KB Kookmin Bank and Lotte Department Store near Nowon Station to in front of the Full Gospel Church. Under the theme of 'Youth and Future! Dynamic Nowon,' various programs will be held divided into ▲Parade Zone ▲Dancing Theme Zone ▲Family Theme Zone.
In the Parade Zone, a colorful street parade competition featuring various genres such as dance, ballet, percussion, martial arts, marching band, hip-hop, and cheerleading accompanied by music will be held. Over two days, from 1 PM to 6 PM each day, about 73 teams including local activity teams, children and youth teams, senior teams, and university/general teams will participate. A total prize money of 60 million KRW is at stake.
On the first day, September 28, at 7 PM, an opening ceremony choir composed of about 200 Nowon residents will announce the start of the festival. Following this, a dancing challenge by Poppin Hyun-jun's crew and local university student dancing supporters will take place, and all street parade participating teams will join in a large-scale flash mob with Poppin Hyun-jun. This performance, planned and directed by Poppin Hyun-jun himself, is expected to offer a unique experience beyond the usual dance competitions.
There are also scheduled congratulatory performances by famous artists. On the first day, September 28, from 7 PM, HOOK, 1MILLION, Poppin Hyun-jun & Park Ae-ri, EDM DJ Sancho, and others will heat up the festival, while on the second day, September 29, from 7 PM, Jinjo Crew, Dynamic Duo, DJ Josd, and others will add to the excitement.
In the Dancing Theme Zone, the Dancing Festa will unfold. Over the two days, 'Random Play Dance' will be held, where teenagers will showcase their talents to randomly played K-pop music.
On the 28th, a youth concert with rapper Outsider and the national B-boy battle competition (B-ON-TOP) 3:3 finals will take place, and on the 29th, a 3:3 open style dance battle along with an all-genre performance competition will be held.
The district will also prepare craft beer and simple snacks to enjoy alongside performances at the Healing Shelter located next to the Dancing Theme Zone. 'Broyhouse Vaneheim,' a first-generation domestic craft beer brewery operating in Nowon-gu for 20 years, and the 'Nowon Craft Beer Cooperative,' representing Nowon, will participate and sell a total of 10 types of craft beer.
Additionally, on the first day, September 28, from 12 PM to 6 PM, visitors can watch a live painting show by 'Altim Joe,' a first-generation graffiti artist, themed on the second-generation dance crews of Dancing Nowon. Furthermore, a 'Brand Fair' will be held to discover and support the sales of Nowon-gu's unique brands.
The Family Theme Zone is filled with experiences and performances preferred by children and families. Over two days, from 12 PM to 6 PM, 20 experience booths will operate, including police uniform experiences, face painting, robot survival, and drone racing.
At the same time, enjoyable programs to relieve stress from not being able to run around due to noise between floors are prepared, such as the music & dance party for children 'THE Chokchok Show,' group recreation games, and family EDM parties.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "This year's 'Dancing Nowon' has returned with richer attractions and various programs that cover all age groups," adding, "We hope families and friends come together to share the youth and excitement of Nowon this autumn."
