Representative Jeon Byeongheon declared upon his inauguration in July that he would undertake a 'second founding,' including changing the party name. Saemirae plans to officially announce the second founding by holding an on-site supreme council meeting and a press conference in Gwangju on the 10th.

At the meeting, Representative Jeon said, "Saemirae Minjudang will quickly establish itself as an alternative party filling the void left by the current Democratic Party of Korea, which has fallen into a 'Lee Jae-myung one-pole system,' through sharp issue fighting and relentless niche strategies."

He added, "Through self-strengthening, when the time comes for changes in the political landscape, Saeminjudang will surely be able to lead the political situation."
