The Criminal Division 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jo Ara) summoned Jeon on the 6th as a witness for questioning. This is the second summons since the end of July.

The Korean Cultural Center in France first showcased the 'Chanel jacket' worn by Mrs. Kim during her visit to France at an exhibition held in 2021. The prosecution is reported to have focused its investigation on the circumstances surrounding the exhibition of the jacket with Jeon.

Previously, Mrs. Kim wore a Chanel jacket inspired by Hangul during her visit to France in October 2018, which was rented for the occasion. This jacket was displayed again at an exhibition held at the Incheon International Airport departure hall in 2022 by the National Hangeul Museum. Around this time, there were online claims that the jacket displayed and the one Mrs. Kim wore were different.

In response, the Blue House stated, "The jacket was returned, and Chanel donated it to the National Hangeul Museum for exhibition." Chanel also stated that "a separate jacket was made and donated at the request of the National Hangeul Museum."

The prosecution has been summoning related individuals sequentially, including Kim Il-hwan, director of the National Hangeul Museum, since early July. On the 3rd of this month, they summoned Kim, a Korean designer affiliated with Chanel headquarters who first expressed the intention to donate the jacket to the Korean government, for questioning.
