The Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office announced on the 6th that it has filed an appeal against the first trial verdict sentencing Seo Mo (32) to 15 years in prison on charges including fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes and embezzlement in the course of business. Previously, the prosecution had requested a 20-year prison sentence for Seo in the first trial.

The prosecution explained the reason for the appeal, stating, "Despite committing large-scale fraud crimes over a long period against numerous victims, the internet broadcaster made no effort to restore the damages," and added, "Considering that he tried to minimize his responsibility during the trial process, a heavier sentence is necessary."

Seo is accused of receiving 11 billion won from about 120 victims under the pretense of coin purchase payments and investment funds, and embezzling 200 million won from the funds of the company he operated.
