The 41st National Disabled Skills Competition Closing Ceremony

40 Gold Medalists, 38 Silver Medalists Awarded

The "41st National Skills Competition for Persons with Disabilities," a festival for skilled disabled individuals nationwide, concluded after a four-day schedule. The closing ceremony held on the 6th at Cheongju Grand Plaza Hotel was attended by over 500 people, including Kim Moon-soo, Minister of Employment and Labor, Kim Soo-min, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs of Chungcheongbuk-do, distinguished guests, and participating athletes.

The competition, held from the 3rd to the 6th, featured 432 representative athletes from 17 cities and provinces across the country competing in 40 different occupational categories. As a result of the competition, the youngest participant, Shin Moo-jin, a third-year middle school student at Suncheon Seonhye School, won a gold medal in the data entry category by scoring a perfect 100 points in 30 minutes.


A total of 40 gold medals, 38 silver medals, and 36 bronze medals were awarded. Awardees received certificates, medals, and prize money. They also gained exemptions from the written and practical tests for the national technical qualification of the relevant occupational category and earned eligibility to participate in the selection competition for the 11th International Skills Olympics for Persons with Disabilities national team.


Minister Kim attended the closing ceremony and stated, "The athletes' outstanding skills and spirit of challenge will serve as an opportunity to break down prejudices against disabilities. The government will increase investment in employment for persons with disabilities to the highest level ever next year, strengthen customized support, and expand digital training."


The 42nd National Skills Competition for Persons with Disabilities will be held next year in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.
