Operation of 'Content Specialist Training Center' in Jakarta
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 6th that they will operate a 'Content Professional Training Center' in Jakarta, Indonesia. This base was established through a project to train professionals in the content industry locally. Choi Bo-geun, Director of the International Cultural Promotion Policy Office at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, explained, "This is the first case of expanding official development assistance (ODA) from traditional cultural support to content."
The Jakarta center will run a capacity-building training program on 'Animation Content Planning and Production' for 150 trainees this year. Starting with this, in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, training centers equipped with the latest digital content equipment will be established in six local regions. Reflecting the characteristics of each region and the demand for content industry personnel, each center will offer educational programs on animation, documentaries, mobile content, and digital content for cultural and arts education. The target trainees are local youth aged 16 to 30, who are the main consumers of cultural content.
Through this initiative, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism aims to enhance the status of Korean cultural content in Indonesia and support the development of the local content industry based on workforce training. Director Choi said, "Indonesia is a highly potential animation consumption market, with children under 14 accounting for more than 25% of the total population," adding, "We expect that this cooperation will expand the cultural influence of Korean content and help the Indonesian content industry take a leap forward."
