The Democratic Party of Korea stated that "Representative Lee Jae-myung has expressed concern. We once again request the cancellation of the rally" to a YouTuber who announced plans to proceed with the 'Rally Urging Investigation of Former President Moon Jae-in and Demanding Resignation' despite demands to cancel the event. This reaffirmed internal unity just two days before the 'Lee Jae-myung 2nd term' leadership's visit to former President Moon.
On the morning of the 6th, spokesperson Han Min-su said in a written briefing, "Now is the time to fight against the reckless opposition leader under the prosecution dictatorship regime, the investigation aimed at killing the opposition party, and the political oppression investigation of the previous administration," adding, "We must be cautious of anything that could even spark a small division within us."
He stated, "As Representative Lee Jae-myung has repeatedly emphasized, internal division is our greatest enemy and has always been the cause of defeat," and urged, "We must recall the message of unity that even if there are differences within us, they are not greater than the differences with the opposition." He also emphasized, "We will continue to unite unwaveringly as a bigger one team to carry out the people's mandate and move forward."
The Democratic Party also requested the cancellation of the rally on the 5th when the YouTuber announced plans to hold the event in front of former President Moon's residence on September 29.
