Measures for Electric Vehicle Fire Safety Management
Installation of Wet Sprinklers in New Building Basements
As the government prepares safety management measures for electric vehicle fires, stocks related to firefighting equipment such as Paratech and Hancom Lifecare are showing strong performance. Recently, the thermal runaway phenomenon, where electric vehicle batteries explode instantly, has led to fires, increasing interest in early suppression.
At 11:22 a.m. on the 6th, Paratech surged to the price limit, and Hancom Lifecare also rose about 13%. Prime Minister Han Duck-soo presided over the National Issues Ministers' Meeting at the Government Seoul Office on the same day. The Prime Minister said, "In all underground parking lots of newly constructed buildings, 'wet sprinklers' capable of early fire detection and preventing combustion spread will be installed in principle." He also emphasized, "Firefighting equipment for electric vehicle fires will be pre-deployed to all fire stations nationwide, and education and training for firefighters, local governments, and residents will be significantly strengthened."
Paratech has accumulated construction technology and improved functions through continuous repetitive construction specializing in firefighting and mechanical equipment for over 50 years, making this its competitive edge. By strengthening the lineup of next-generation firefighting products and existing product groups, it is solidifying its status as a comprehensive firefighting safety company.
Hancom Lifecare, leading the firefighting safety field with 50 years of safety technology, is responding to electric vehicle and battery fires with an "all-in-one solution for electric vehicle safety." It has released safety equipment that can be installed within one minute. The portable foldable flooding tank and eco-friendly carbon fiber smothering fire extinguisher are already strengthening their market position as response measures for electric vehicle fire suppression.
The smothering fire extinguisher for electric vehicles introduced by Hancom Lifecare applies special coating technology to carbon fiber, an eco-friendly material, making it highly heat-resistant and flame-retardant enough to withstand flames exceeding 2500℃. Competing products made of silica fiber emit toxic gases when burning and cannot be reused after incineration. Hancom Lifecare’s product does not emit toxic gases due to the characteristics of carbon fiber. When covering a burning vehicle, it significantly reduces carbon dioxide leakage and can be reused more than 30 times, making it environmentally friendly.
Hancom Lifecare has also developed a foldable portable flooding tank for fire trucks. It can be variably installed on responding fire trucks and moved to fire scenes to suppress fires.
