Since 2011, S-Oil has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare for the 'Gas Station Sharing N Campaign' program, supporting socially vulnerable groups through community-linked social contribution programs at gas stations. The company has led various activities to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, including employee salary rounding donations, volunteer work, and sponsoring performances by the Heart Heart Orchestra, Korea’s first orchestra composed of youths with developmental disabilities, since 2009.
To encourage the activities of those who protect citizens' lives and property and dedicate themselves to neighbors in need, S-Oil has supported the 'Firefighter Hero Keeper' program since 2006, the 'Citizen Hero Keeper' program since 2008, and the 'Coast Guard Hero Keeper' program since 2013. In 2011, S-Oil received the Presidential Citation on Firefighters’ Day in recognition of its contributions to the Firefighter Hero Keeper program.
An S-Oil representative said, "It is very meaningful to be recognized for our sustainable and sincere social contribution activities," adding, "S-Oil will continue to deliver positive influence through meaningful activities and become a company that practices ESG management."
