Hankom Lifecare is targeting the electric vehicle battery fire suppression solution market, which has recently become a hot topic. The company has established a full lineup of electric vehicle fire suppression products, including the industry's first reusable eco-friendly carbon fiber smothering fire extinguishing blanket, a portable electric vehicle immersion tank, and an unmanned automated system that detects fires and simultaneously applies the fire extinguishing blanket and immersion tank. The unmanned automated system is installed in electric vehicle charging zones. When a fire breaks out in an electric vehicle, the system automatically covers the vehicle with both the fire extinguishing blanket and immersion tank at once to suppress the fire.

Na Seungdu, a researcher at SK Securities, stated, "They possess a reliable suppression solution for electric vehicle fires, which have emerged as a new safety issue. By installing a portable foldable immersion tank along with covering the fire with a smothering fire extinguishing blanket, it is a technology that ensures effective initial suppression and prevents fire spread." He added, "The advantage is that it is easy to install and maintain in electric vehicle parking spaces," and analyzed that "inquiries are surging."

Prime Minister Han Deok-su presided over a ministerial meeting on national issues at the Government Seoul Office on the same day and announced that the government has prepared safety management measures for electric vehicle fires.

Prime Minister Han said, "In principle, all underground parking lots in newly constructed buildings will be equipped with 'wet sprinklers' capable of early fire detection and combustion spread prevention," adding, "We will significantly strengthen safety inspections of sprinklers in existing buildings and encourage performance improvements, while also tightening fire protection standards for interior finishing materials in parking lots."
