Kakao Mobility Signs Business Agreement with Bear Robotics
Joint Development of Indoor Delivery Robot Operating Environment and Robot-Specialized Services

Hoban Construction has partnered with Kakao Mobility and Bear Robotics to lay the groundwork for introducing robot services in apartment complexes and resorts.

On the 5th, a tripartite business agreement ceremony between Hoban Construction, Kakao Mobility, and Bear Robotics was held at Hoban Park in Seocho-gu, Seoul. On the 6th, Hoban Construction announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kakao Mobility and Bear Robotics to standardize the operating environment for indoor delivery robots and jointly develop robot-based specialized services.

The signing ceremony, held on the 5th at Hoban Park in Seocho-gu, was attended by Moon Gap, Head of Management Division at Hoban Construction, Jang Sung-wook, Head of Future Mobility Research Institute at Kakao Mobility, and Ha Jung-woo, CEO of Bear Robotics.

Through this agreement, Hoban Construction plans to promote the standardization of design environments suitable for robot navigation and support environments for robot service demonstrations. This is to introduce robot services in various business sites such as apartment complexes and resorts and to establish a foundation for expanding applications across diverse industries. The three companies will jointly develop new technologies including technical standards for robot-based specialized services, operating procedures, security policies, and data management methods.

Kakao Mobility will utilize its open API (Application Programming Interface) platform to integrate various ordering services with robots and support smooth interactions. Bear Robotics plans to enhance robot hardware and navigation solution technologies by applying the latest technologies and develop efficient service operation solutions.

Ha Jung-woo, CEO of Bear Robotics, stated, "Starting with this MOU, we will expand indoor delivery services and strive to provide improved services to users."

Hoban Group’s Hoban Hotel & Resort began room service using autonomous indoor delivery robots last month at Restree Resort in Jecheon. The autonomous indoor delivery robots can deliver beverages and room amenities to the front of guest rooms using elevators without human assistance.
