NuriLab Wins Excellence Award in AI Security Promising Companies at '2024 AI+Security Demo Day'

Security specialist company Nurilab announced on the 6th that it won the Excellence Award in the AI Security Promising Company category at the AI+Security Demo Day awards ceremony held during the ‘2024 AI Security Day’ seminar hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).

At the ‘2024 AI+Security Demo Day’ event held on the 29th of last month at the Pangyo Information Security Cluster, Nurilab unveiled its AI-based anti-phishing solution, receiving high praise from investors. The ‘2024 AI+Security Demo Day,’ organized by KISA, was held to promote investment attraction and strengthen investment capabilities for promising domestic AI security companies and information security startups.

Nurilab is a security solution development specialist company that researches and develops antivirus, anti-ransomware, email, and document threat response solutions that surpass the limitations of existing security technologies by utilizing AI and big data technologies. Last year, it attracted significant industry attention by unveiling ‘AskURL,’ a generative AI-based phishing site blocking service.

AskURL is a solution that analyzes malicious URLs in real-time from messages received via mobile text messages, emails, and messengers, fundamentally blocking threats such as phishing, smishing, and quishing.

Existing malicious URL analysis solutions detect harmful URLs by using secured normal and malicious databases. This method analyzes only with the secured databases, making it impossible to detect new and variant URLs. In contrast, AskURL can analyze and block new and variant malicious URL threats using a generative AI engine and a big data-based URL similarity analysis engine.

Jung-ho Park, CEO of Nurilab, said, “Through this award, the excellent technology and product competitiveness of AskURL, developed with proprietary technology, have been recognized. Currently, there are increasing collaboration inquiries from companies regarding AskURL, and some collaborative solutions with partner companies are expected to start service domestically soon.”

He added, “Since its establishment in 2015, we are conducting external investment attraction for the first time and are in discussions with multiple institutional investors and strategic investors regarding investment and business cooperation. We plan to use the funds secured through investment attraction to provide AskURL services not only domestically but also in the global market.”
