So how many consecutive birdies do tour players make? Recently, a "world record" was set in Korea: 10 consecutive birdies. The record holder is 19-year-old Kim Sejin. On the 2nd, at the Dream Field Tour 10th event, a Korean golf mini-tour held at Gunsan Country Club’s Gimje-Jeongeup Course (par 70) in Jeonbuk, Kim made this remarkable achievement. Starting from the 10th hole, Kim Sejin made birdies consecutively from the 18th hole to the final 9th hole. Ten consecutive birdies is a record never before seen in domestic men’s or women’s professional golf, nor on the PGA Tour in the United States.

Kim Sejin is a first-year student in the Golf Department at Yongin University and a professional player on the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour. He mainly competes on the KPGA Challenge Tour, the second-tier tour, while occasionally participating in the Dream Field Tour. Except for a 6-meter birdie putt on the 6th hole (par 4), he showcased fantastic approach skills by making seven birdies all within 3 meters of the pin up to the 8th hole. On the 9th hole (par 4), although his second shot landed 9 meters from the pin, he sank the birdie putt to complete the historic record. He also enjoyed the joy of victory with an 8-under-par 62.

In a post-match interview, Kim Sejin smiled and said, "When I made the 9-meter birdie putt on the last hole, it was truly thrilling. I thought it would be a meaningful record, but honestly, I didn’t realize it was the record for the most consecutive birdies." Lee Pyung-yeop, CEO of the Dream Field Tour, explained, "We applied the pin positions and course settings from the KPGA Challenge Tour exactly. The course difficulty was by no means low." The Dream Field Tour is hosted by Lee & Brothers and sponsored by Gunsan Country Club. Anyone can participate by joining the Dream Field Tour on Naver Band as a member.
