Famous Author Lectures, Music Performances, and Interactive Programs
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will hold the "9th Gangseo Village Book Festival" in celebration of September as Reading Month. The festival, themed "Reading in Gangseo [9讀: Reading Books in September]," will run until September 30.
The festival is centered around eight Gangseo-gu public libraries and features various reading-related cultural events such as author meetings, concerts, and hands-on programs.
On the 7th, the "Dream Festival" at the Dream Children's Library and the "English Storytelling Contest" at Gangseo English Library will take place. On the 28th, the "Green Book Festival: Book Picnic" at Ujangsan Forest Library and the "Storytelling Book Festival" at Gilkkot Children's Library will be held.
On the 21st of this month, special meetings with authors are scheduled: author Kim Yeon-su at Pureundeul Youth Library, author Park Hyun-sook at Gayang Library, and on the 28th, author Kim Young-ha at Deungbit Library.
On the 29th, the "Gomdallae Village Book Festival" at Gomdallae Library will include a 'Book Camping' event where families can enjoy various experiences with books.
Additionally, until the end of this month, various side events such as magic shows and art exhibitions will be held at each library to encourage continuous participation from residents. Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, "I hope this book festival will be an opportunity for residents to get closer to books," and added, "Gangseo-gu will continue to do its best to create a community that grows together with books."
