Originally, the Korea Forest Service planned to supply 244 tons of chestnuts and jujubes, but to reduce the burden on consumers' shopping baskets, it plans to supply a total of 294 tons by adding 50 tons to the market.

In addition, the Korea Forestry Cooperative Federation will offer discounts on seasonal forest products such as chestnuts and jujubes at forest product direct sales stores operated directly and the forest product exclusive online mall "Pureunjangteo".

The price of chestnuts will be lowered from about 10,000 KRW per 1 kg to around 6,000 KRW (40% compared to the market price in the first week of September), dried jujubes from about 20,000 KRW per 1 kg to around 17,000 KRW (15%), and peeled pine nuts from about 10,000 KRW per 100 g to around 9,500 KRW (5%).

Separately, the Korea Forest Service explained that, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, chestnuts, jujubes, and other items will be included in the government discount support items, allowing purchases at large supermarkets and other places at prices discounted by more than 20%.

Park Eun-sik, Director of the Forest Industry Policy Bureau at the Korea Forest Service, said, "To reduce the burden of purchasing seasonal products during the Chuseok holiday, we will continuously monitor the supply and demand situation of forest products such as chestnuts and jujubes, and supply stored quantities to large supermarkets and traditional markets to maintain price stability of forest products."
