Trump Raised $130 Million Last Month
Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice presidential candidate in the United States, raised over $300 million in campaign funds last month. Former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, raised less than half of Harris's amount.
On the 5th (local time), NBC reported, citing sources, that Vice President Harris raised more than $300 million in August. The official campaign fundraising amount will be disclosed on the 20th.
This amount far exceeds the $130 million raised by former President Trump last month, more than double his total. Earlier, the political news outlet Politico reported that $130 million was raised last month through Trump's joint fundraising committee, official campaign, and the Republican National Committee. Compared to July ($139 million) and August ($210 million), the fundraising amount has decreased.
Since July 21, when President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race due to age and cognitive concerns and was replaced as the Democratic presidential candidate, Vice President Harris has rapidly attracted campaign funds from the Democratic base. Democratic supporters who had previously ignored President Biden are now actively opening their wallets for the new candidate, Vice President Harris. As a result, former President Trump has fallen behind Harris in campaign fundraising.
Meanwhile, the Harris campaign announced on the 1st of this month that it has raised $540 million since July 21.
