Product Site Tour and Liquor Tasting Event Held
On the morning of the 5th, local company Daesun Distilling held a tour event at its Busan Gijang plant for over 40 participants, including members of the Finland Chamber of Commerce and key figures from politics and business.
Executive Director Jaeyoung Cha of Daesun Joojo (second from the left in the front row) and Heikki Ranta, President of the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Korea (third), along with other officials, are posing for a group photo.
This tour was organized by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide key figures from the Finland Chamber of Commerce with an opportunity to benchmark the Daesun Distilling production plant, which has been selected as a representative Smart Lighthouse Factory by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Participants closely observed the production process of Daesun Distilling’s products and had a chance to sample beverages produced through smart manufacturing processes.
In particular, the Daesun Distilling production facility, which is currently being equipped with AI vision inspection machines, process logistics automation using robots, and industrial security systems, attracted significant interest from the attendees.
Daesun Distilling CEO Cho Woo-hyun said, “We are pleased to be recognized as a leading benchmarking case for smart factories alongside other top domestic companies. As a representative lighthouse factory in the food and beverage sector, we will continue to lead the future of the industry.”
Daesun Distilling was selected in August 2021 as the first company in the food and beverage sector for the government-led K-Smart Lighthouse Factory project, and began building its smart factory in partnership with POSCO DX. The completion is scheduled for the 30th of this month.
The K-Smart Lighthouse Factory project is a government initiative that benchmarks the global Lighthouse Factories selected by the World Economic Forum, which are mainly large enterprises. It supports the construction of top-level smart factories by applying AI, big data, and digital twin technologies to enable real-time remote control.
