Support of 'Sports Bra'... New Balance and Adidas Products Are the Best

Korea Consumer Agency Tests and Evaluates 7 Brands
Andar Products Show Weak Clothing Pressure and Excellent Comfort

Wearing a sports bra during exercise was found to reduce breast movement, aiding physical activity. In particular, New Balance and Adidas products showed relatively less breast movement, indicating superior support, while Andar's products had weaker garment pressure, making them the most comfortable to wear.

The Korea Consumer Agency announced on the 5th that it selected seven sports bras from seven popular brands and tested and evaluated their support and comfort. The tested products included Nike 'DX6822-010', New Balance 'NBN9E2P022', Lululemon 'LW2D86A', Mula Wear 'AWNEBR306', Adidas 'IQ3377', Andar 'AMFBT-01', and Under Armour '1377916'.

In the test evaluation, these sports bras reduced breast movement by approximately 13-20% compared to regular bras when worn. This proved that wearing a sports bra during exercise helps provide support. Among them, New Balance and Adidas products received the highest scores for both brisk walking and running levels of exercise, indicating excellent support. Andar showed relatively moderate support, making it suitable for light activities or low-intensity exercise.

However, Adidas products had relatively strong garment pressure, causing discomfort in movement. Conversely, Andar, while offering moderate support, had relatively weak garment pressure and was rated the most comfortable in consumer wear evaluations. Regarding sweat absorption performance?the ability of the lining in contact with the body to absorb sweat?and the ease of releasing absorbed sweat to the outside, New Balance and Adidas products were relatively superior. Andar had a higher recovery rate in stretch, maintaining its original shape and function better than other products.

Lululemon products posed a risk of staining other clothes if left wet for a long time. Additionally, New Balance had discrepancies between some fiber blend labels and actual content, and Under Armour did not use fiber names as specified by standards, indicating a need for improvement.

Some products used recycled materials considering the environment. Nike and New Balance used recycled polyester materials, and Andar used recycled packaging. Adidas also used recycled polyester materials and recycled packaging, showing environmental consideration.

Nike and Adidas provided appropriate recommended size information based on body measurements such as underbust and bust circumference in their online product information. Lululemon and Mula Wear lacked online size selection information reflecting body measurements, making it difficult to know which product to choose. Some brands offered free exchange or return services to help select the right size, enhancing convenience in size selection.
