Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will implement a 'Chuseok Holiday Household Waste Management Plan' to provide citizens with a clean and pleasant living environment during the Chuseok holiday period.
On the first day of the holiday, the 16th, regular waste (standard waste bags and food waste) will be collected as usual, but collection will be suspended for two days on Chuseok itself, the 17th and 18th. For recyclables, collection days differ by district, so residents must check their local schedule before disposal.
During the holiday period, including the weekend (from the 14th to the 18th), the city will operate a situation room and deploy mobile response teams from cleaning contractors to promptly handle waste-related complaints. In addition, from the 19th, when the holiday ends, all available personnel and equipment will be mobilized to collect any accumulated waste and conduct a thorough post-holiday cleanup.
Choi Youngsook, Director of the Climate and Environment Bureau, stated, "We ask citizens to check the waste collection schedule during the holiday and dispose of waste accordingly. We also request active participation and strict adherence to waste separation and disposal methods to help create a clean and pleasant holiday atmosphere."
For more detailed information regarding collection schedules, please contact the Resource Circulation Division of Changwon City or the Environmental Division of each district office.
