Did They Target the Moment of Receiving Delivery Food?... 30s Man Kills Girlfriend Who Broke Up in Busan

On the 3rd, a man in his 30s who reported "I killed my girlfriend" and was subsequently arrested was found to have committed the murder after being told to break up.

On the 4th, Yonhap News reported, "Busan Yeonje Police Station stated that the man in his 30s, Mr. A, confessed that he committed the crime while demanding to resume the relationship with his ex-girlfriend." Earlier, at 7:36 PM the previous day, Mr. A stabbed his ex-girlfriend, Ms. B, in her 20s, to death with a weapon at an officetel in Yeonje-gu, Busan. After the crime, Mr. A reported "I killed my girlfriend" and was found sitting on the rooftop railing before being arrested by the police.

On the day of the incident, Mr. A visited the victim’s house to ask for reconciliation. At that time, the victim rejected Mr. A’s proposal to meet again. Afterwards, a quarrel broke out between Mr. A and the victim, and at the end of the fight, Mr. A wielded a weapon he had brought from home toward the victim. The police are investigating with a focus on the possibility of a premeditated crime, considering that Mr. A had prepared the weapon in advance.

It appears that Mr. A broke into the house by taking advantage of the moment when the victim opened the door to receive a delivery order. It is known that Mr. A waited for a long time in the corridor and on the rooftop until the victim’s door was opened. A police official said, "Mr. A did not know the victim’s house password," and added, "Based on the investigation so far, it is presumed that he entered the house when the victim brought the delivery food inside."

The police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of murder that afternoon.

Meanwhile, during the one year the victim dated Mr. A, she reported him to the police three times. The reports included concerns such as Mr. A’s voice being loud and scary during conversations or feeling afraid because Mr. A seemed to be nearby on the street. A police official said, "It is presumed that they repeatedly dated and broke up, during which the victim reported Mr. A three times," adding, "When officers responded to the scene, they separated the two and took measures, but the victim did not want Mr. A to be punished or to wear a smartwatch for personal protection, so the case was closed." The official further added, "On the day the murder occurred, there were no reports from the victim."
