An incident has come to light where a high school senior, known for being a devout believer, impersonated a junior to operate a pornographic account.
JTBC's 'Case Manager' reported on the 4th that a man in his 20s, Mr. A, stalked a junior woman, Ms. B, who dreamed of becoming a dance instructor, and operated a pornographic account impersonating her. According to the report, Ms. B, the informant in her 20s, learned from an acquaintance in May last year that there was a pornographic account using her photos without permission. The person operating the account was identified as Mr. A, who, after confessing to Ms. B via social networking services (SNS) during her high school days and being rejected, committed the crime. He secretly collected photos posted on Ms. B's SNS, created a pornographic account, selectively uploaded revealing photos of Ms. B, and left comments such as "I want to have sex," "I want to meet," and "Dance wearing only underwear." He also posted pornographic videos completely unrelated to Ms. B.
Upon realizing this, Ms. B immediately reported it to the police. Meanwhile, the impersonation account continued to upload Ms. B's past and recent photos approximately every two hours. Through subsequent investigation, Mr. A was identified as Ms. B's high school senior and her older brother, who was a Protestant Christian. Ms. B stated, "Since Mr. A was known as a devout believer, I never imagined he would be the perpetrator."
Mr. A admitted his wrongdoing in a broadcast, saying, "I acknowledge my fault," but also stated, "I apologized, and Ms. B accepted it. I have recordings of everything." Later, in the first trial held in April, Mr. A was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for defamation and distribution of obscene materials, with the court stating, "Although there was an agreement, the nature of the crime is very serious." However, in the second trial following Mr. A's appeal, the court ruled, "Since the two parties reached an agreement, defamation charges do not stand," and sentenced him to 4 months in prison with a 1-year probation. Regarding this, Ms. B lamented, "After the incident, I quit all the work I was doing and was unable to engage in economic activities, which only increased my debts." She added, "Eventually, I became a basic livelihood security recipient, and during that time, my mother's health deteriorated, so I had no choice but to settle."
Ms. B told 'Case Manager,' "I was afraid someone would recognize me, and eventually, I even attempted suicide." She continued, "As this kept happening, I was hospitalized in a closed ward for a year by the police. Now, I am taking medication and trying to recover my daily life in any way I can." She also added, "Currently, additional sexual crimes by Mr. A have been revealed, and the Metropolitan Investigation Unit is investigating. I understand there are 3 to 4 additional victims. I am reporting this in the hope that no one else will suffer like I did."
