On the afternoon of the 4th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, attended the opening ceremony of the 'Shin Kyuk-ho Open Library,' which opened on the first floor of the Shin Kyuk-ho Lotte Scholarship Hall (90 Huiujeong-ro, Mapo-gu).
The newly opened 'Shin Kyuk-ho Open Library' is an open library available not only to students but also to local residents. The library is stocked with novels, essays, poetry books, as well as the Mapo User Guide and the Hongdae Red Road User Guide.
To celebrate the library's opening, about 100 people gathered, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, Shin Young-ja, Chairperson of the Lotte Foundation, Jang Hye-seon, Chairperson of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, representatives of Mangwon-dong residents, and student representatives.
The event proceeded in the order of a welcome speech by Jang Hye-seon, Chairperson of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation, a congratulatory address by Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, a donation ceremony of Chuseok gifts for the underprivileged, an explanation of the library, and a plaque unveiling ceremony.
In his congratulatory address, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, said, “Following the launch of the Lotte Scholarship Foundation’s Shin Kyuk-ho Lotte Scholarship Hall, I sincerely welcome the opening of the ‘Shin Kyuk-ho Open Library,’ which anyone in Mapo can use. I hope that future talents who embody Chairman Shin Kyuk-ho’s vision and creativity will nurture hope and dreams in this space, and Mapo District will support them together.”
