Arrived at Police Box, Exited Taxi and Fled
Bleeding from Self-Harm During Argument
Illegal Stay in Country for 3 Years
A foreign man who was staying illegally was caught by the police while fleeing covered in blood.
On the 2nd, the National Police Agency released a video titled "Man who fled after getting off a taxi: 'There was blood on my clothes'" on their official YouTube channel. According to the content, last July, a taxi carrying a foreign male passenger visited a police substation in Nam-gu, Ulsan. However, as soon as the taxi arrived at the substation, the passenger hurriedly got off and ran away, leaving his companion behind.
Suspicious of this, the police officers chased after him, and the foreigner, startled, ran away again. Seeing a large amount of bloodstains on the man's clothes, the police judged there was suspicion of a crime and pursued him. The man, who was hiding behind a building, was eventually caught by the police. It turned out that he had been illegally staying in the country for three years and fled to avoid being caught. The large amount of blood on the man was from self-inflicted injuries he caused in anger during an argument with an acquaintance inside the taxi. The police provided emergency treatment to the man's severely bleeding fingers through the 119 emergency medical service and then arrested him on charges of illegal stay.
Netizens responded with comments such as "I hope all the illegal residents hiding are caught," "Police officers, please always be careful," and "Thank you for your hard work."
