"Visiting Czech Republic This Month to Strengthen Partnership"
On the morning of the 4th, President Yoon Suk-yeol met with Tom?? Pojar, the National Security Advisor of the Czech Republic, at the Yongsan Presidential Office and stated, "We will actively cooperate to successfully complete the Czech nuclear power plant project." Advisor Pojar responded, "I am confident that a final contract will be signed with Korea."
According to the Presidential Office, during the meeting, President Yoon welcomed Advisor Pojar's visit to Korea and expressed his pleasure that the Republic of Korea and the Czech Republic, which share core values such as democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, are closely cooperating in various fields including economy, politics, culture, and diplomatic security.
President Yoon evaluated the Czech government's selection of 'Team Korea' as the preferred negotiator for the Dukovany new nuclear power plant construction project, one of the largest investment projects in Czech history as of last July, as "a demonstration of the firm will of both countries to strengthen Korea-Czech cooperation."
He then emphasized, "We will actively cooperate to successfully complete the Czech nuclear power plant project."

President Yoon expressed his hope that through his scheduled visit to the Czech Republic this month, the Korea-Czech strategic partnership established in 2015 will be further strengthened and that concrete achievements expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries will be realized. He also requested Advisor Pojar's special attention and cooperation.
Advisor Pojar explained that President Yoon's September visit to the Czech Republic is for practical preparation purposes and stated, "The Czech government hopes to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Korea not only in the nuclear power sector but also in industry, investment, defense industry, transportation, and research and development (R&D)."
He added, "From the Czech perspective, we are confident that a final contract will be signed with Korea for the Dukovany nuclear power plant construction project." Recently, Westinghouse in the United States raised objections to Korea's selection as the preferred negotiator for the Czech nuclear power plant project, citing patent infringement by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, but Advisor Pojar confirmed that Korea's selection is not problematic.
Advisor Pojar explained that preparations will be thorough to ensure that President Yoon's visit to the Czech Republic, at the invitation of Prime Minister Petr Fiala, becomes an opportunity to dramatically strengthen Korea-Czech relations.
