Osan City Holds Opening Ceremony for Uncheon Middle School Artificial Turf Sports Field

Support of 1.84 Billion KRW to 3 Schools

Osan City in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 4th that it completed the installation of artificial turf at the playground of Uncheon Middle School located in Osan-dong and held an opening ceremony on the 2nd.

The artificial turf playground project is a joint investment by the city and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education to provide a safe and comfortable environment for student physical activities and health. Previously, the city secured approximately 1.66 billion KRW from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education budget last year and allocated about 180 million KRW from the city budget, totaling around 1.84 billion KRW to support three local schools: Geumam Elementary School, Uncheon Middle School, and Seongho High School.

This artificial turf installation at Uncheon Middle School is the second project following the completion of Geumam Elementary School in April. About 50 people, including Osan Mayor Lee Kwon-jae, Principal Kim Chang-wook, Uncheon Middle School officials, and parents, attended the opening ceremony.

Mayor Lee said, "The installation of the artificial turf playground goes beyond simply improving school facilities; it represents the creation of a space to promote physical education where students can realize their dreams and hopes." He added, "I hope this artificial turf installation will help students grow up healthy."
