Chungnam Province announced on the 4th that it has achieved first place nationwide for four consecutive years at the National Quality Circle Competition.
The Korean Standards Association holds this competition every year to share outstanding cases of quality improvement in industrial sites.
This year's 50th National Quality Circle Competition saw participation from 298 quality circles and over 4,000 people from 17 cities and provinces. Quality circles are groups composed of field workers who present case studies and achievements related to quality improvement in industrial workplaces.
From Chungnam, 19 quality circles including Fores (Korea East-West Power Dangjin Power Headquarters) won gold prizes, 10 circles including Airbag (Hyundai Motor Asan Plant) won silver prizes, and 9 circles including Seolbisarang (Hanwha TotalEnergies) won bronze prizes, securing the top spot nationwide.
A provincial official stated, "Being ranked first in the nation for four consecutive years is the result of continuous efforts by local companies and quality circle members to improve quality," adding, "We will spare no effort in supporting quality improvement and enhancing the competitiveness of companies in the province."
