Formation of Task Force for Sexual Crime Prevention
Agreement with Victim Support Center
Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 4th that it will operate a 'Special Prevention Education Period' to prevent deepfake sex crimes, which have recently emerged as a serious social issue.
This special prevention education will be held for 10 days from the 4th to the 13th, during which all schools will utilize homeroom, assembly, and class hours to raise awareness about the seriousness of deepfake sex crimes and conduct intensive prevention education to prevent the spread of similar cases.
Meanwhile, Gyeongbuk Office of Education took a proactive approach by issuing the nation's first School Siren No. 1 'Deepfake Sex Crime' alert in July. The office is also planning training sessions to enhance the expertise of school administrators and staff for effective initial response, as well as on-site deepfake sex crime prevention campaigns.
In addition, a Deepfake Sex Crime Prevention Task Force (TF) has been formed to support early response in schools and assist affected students. The office also plans to strengthen its cooperation system by signing MOUs with the Digital Sex Crime Victim Support Center and the Gyeongbuk Digital Sexual Violence Specialized Counseling Center.
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, emphasized, "Through the operation of this special prevention education period, we will actively support students in clearly recognizing the dangers of deepfake sex crimes and developing the capacity to protect themselves."
