Efforts to Prevent Occupational Diseases Among Affiliated Workers
Geochang County, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 4th that it will conduct a special health examination for workers for about 200 on-site employees affiliated with the county over a two-month period until October 31.
Geochang County Agricultural Technology Center is conducting on-site medical examinations at the Future Agriculture Complex Education Center.
The 'special health examination' refers to a health checkup conducted by employers for workers engaged in tasks exposed to hazardous factors such as noise, dust, benzene, formaldehyde, and night work, to manage their health. Among Geochang County employees, those mainly responsible for forestry (parks and green spaces), road maintenance, environmental management, and CCTV monitoring are subject to this examination.
This special health examination will be conducted on-site for the convenience of workers over two to four days at the Future Agriculture Complex Education Center of the Agricultural Technology Center. For those requiring re-examination and staff working in the county office cafeteria, low-dose chest CT scans will be outsourced to Jinju Jeil Hospital.
County Governor Koo Inmo stated, "In addition to the existing basic examination items, we will more precisely assess each worker's individual health condition to prevent occupational diseases and support workers so they can work in a safe environment."
Meanwhile, the special health examination for workers is a checkup that must be conducted regularly for those exposed to hazardous substances or working in dangerous environments, with the purpose of early detection and prevention of health risk factors that may arise during work. It is carried out every year.
