The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will hold a forum on the theme of creating an innovation hub in the station area.
On the 4th, Suwon City announced that it will hold the "2024 Urban Policy Citizen Planning Group Roundtable Forum" on the 10th at the Ibis Ambassador Suwon Hotel in Ingye-dong. This forum, held under the theme of "Creating an Innovation Hub in the Station Area," will be divided into two parts: a roundtable discussion in the first part and a talk concert in the second part.
During the talk concert, Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon and urban experts will discuss urban issues and the results of the Urban Policy Citizen Planning Group's discussions.
Any Suwon citizen can participate in this forum. Additionally, anyone can join the "Suwon City Urban Policy Citizen Planning Group" through the Saebit Toktok app or the Suwon City website.
A Suwon City official stated, "We plan to carefully review the opinions of citizens raised during the roundtable forum and reflect them as much as possible in Suwon's urban policies," and added, "We ask for active participation from citizens."
The Suwon City Urban Policy Citizen Planning Group, launched in 2012, is Suwon's representative governance body that provides opinions when formulating the city's basic plans. Based on citizen feedback and discussions, it presents the future vision of Suwon desired by its citizens. Members of the planning group are selected through citizen applications and recommendations from civic organizations, and it is composed of citizens, city council members, civic groups, students, and experts.
