Guro-gu's 'Safe and Comfortable Chuseok' 2024 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures Implementation

Safety Measures, Traffic Measures, Resolution of Daily Inconveniences, Warm Holiday Sharing, Establishment of Public Service Discipline in 5 Areas

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that it will implement the '2024 Chuseok Comprehensive Measures' for 7 days from September 13 to 19 to ensure that all residents can spend a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday.

This comprehensive plan consists of five areas: ▲Safety Measures ▲Traffic Measures ▲Resolution of Daily Inconveniences ▲Warm Holiday Sharing ▲Establishment of Public Service Discipline.

First, the district will operate a comprehensive situation room composed of the Integrated Disaster Site Support Headquarters, Road Facility Repair Task Force, Flood and Wind Disaster Countermeasure Team, Park and Greenery Situation Room, Parking Enforcement Team, Cleaning Countermeasure Team, and Health Center Medical Guidance Team. During the implementation period of the comprehensive measures, 451 personnel will be deployed to promptly respond to residents' inconveniences.

In particular, safety inspections will be conducted on apartment complexes, housing construction sites, disaster-risk facilities, and building construction sites. Multi-use facilities frequently visited by people, such as movie theaters, performance and cultural facilities, sports facilities, large stores, and traditional markets, will be intensively inspected to thoroughly ensure residents' safety.

The health center will set up and operate a medical guidance team from the 14th to the 18th to provide information on medical institutions and pharmacies available during the holiday and to respond promptly in case of emergency medical accidents.

Also, from the 13th to the 19th, a traffic measures situation room will be operated to oversee traffic conditions and provide various traffic information. From 10 PM on the 13th, when the holiday begins, to 2 AM on the 14th, special crackdowns on commercial vehicle traffic violations will be conducted at major stations. To promote the use of traditional markets, parking enforcement around six traditional markets will be temporarily relaxed from 10 AM to 5 PM during the 13th to 19th.

To prevent residents' inconvenience caused by household waste, a cleaning situation room and cleaning task force will operate from the 14th to the 18th. For areas where waste is collected on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, collection is restricted on September 16 and should be done after 8 PM on September 18. For areas with collection on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, collection is restricted on September 17 and should be done after 8 PM on September 19.

Measures to stabilize prices have also been prepared to reduce the burden of grocery prices on residents. From the 13th to the 19th, a price stabilization situation room will be activated to establish orderly transactions of Chuseok seasonal goods.

The Guro Hanmadang Market for Chuseok will be held for two days on the 11th and 12th at the Guro-gu Office plaza, and various events will be held at traditional markets such as ▲Garibong Market (9th?11th) ▲Gocheok Alley Shopping District (9th?13th) ▲Namguro Market (11th?12th) ▲Gocheok Neighborhood Market (12th?14th) ▲Guro Market (13th).

For socially isolated and vulnerable groups who may feel lonelier during the holiday, consolation goods will be delivered to social welfare facilities and vulnerable households. From the 9th to the 20th, a 12-day 'Intensive Welfare Check Period' will be operated targeting 3,153 households at risk of social isolation.

A Guro-gu official said, “We will carry out the comprehensive measures as planned without any setbacks so that all residents can spend a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday without inconvenience.”
