‘Donation-Delivered Elderly Care Facility’ Established Within Apartment Complex
Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 4th that the 'Eunpyeong Senior Care Center' in Susaek-dong will begin operating a dementia-specialized room starting this month.
The Eunpyeong Senior Care Center is a public elderly care facility built in the 'Susaek 13 District Housing Redevelopment Project' in Eunpyeong-gu, which Seoul City established by receiving a donation of an elderly care facility through the nation's first public contribution method in a private development project. It is a public elderly nursing facility with a capacity of 75 people, spanning from basement level 1 to the 6th floor, and opened in May.
Operated under consignment by the social welfare corporation Yeongnak Social Welfare Foundation, this facility is divided into 5 dementia-specialized rooms and 21 general nursing rooms. It creates a home-friendly unit care environment where seniors can continue their daily lives in a home-like living space while receiving care. Specialized personnel dedicated to elderly care provide customized integrated care services.
In the dementia-specialized rooms, a physically and emotionally stable environment is provided for seniors with dementia. Specialized personnel who have completed dementia-specific training are assigned to conduct various programs for customized care, ensuring systematic and professional management.
Seniors who have received the 'facility grade' among long-term care grades are eligible to apply for admission. Applicants can fill out an online application form on the center's website, undergo consultation, and then sign an admission contract.
District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung stated, "We expect to improve the quality of life by providing customized protection for seniors with dementia and alleviating the burden on families of dementia patients."
