Southern India, 35 Dead in Two Days Due to Heavy Rain... 40% of City Flooded

At least 35 people have died in two days due to floods caused by monsoon (rainy season) heavy rains in southern India. On the 3rd (local time), according to AP News and others, local officials reported that houses collapsed and road and railway traffic were disrupted due to flooding in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.

In particular, in Vijayawada, a commercial city in Andhra Pradesh, the Budameru River running through the city overflowed, submerging 40% of the city. The worst flood in 20 years occurred, isolating about 275,000 residents of the city. Rescue authorities are working to move residents to safe areas and are providing food to some isolated citizens using drones. In northern India, at least 170 people have died from floods and landslides since June.

In Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, in the Zhob and Quetta regions, five children were reported dead in one day on the 2nd. Since July 1, at least 300 people have died in Pakistan due to heavy rains.
