Emergency Medical System Inspection and Encouragement of On-Duty Emergency Staff
Speaker of the National Assembly Woo Won-sik visited the Central Emergency Medical Center at the National Medical Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 3rd to inspect the emergency medical system and encourage the staff on duty.
Speaker Woo said, "I came to check the site because public anxiety has increased due to the recent emergency room crisis," adding, "I want to visit the site and find solutions together on how to fix this situation." He continued, "I will do my best to resolve the current situation quickly, and let us use this opportunity to firmly establish public healthcare in our society."

He also encouraged the medical center staff, saying, "I am grateful to the employees who are steadfastly maintaining South Korea's emergency medical system despite the difficult circumstances."
Joo Young-soo, director of the National Medical Center, said, "I ask you to directly check the current status and think together about the development of the emergency medical system, which is an important platform of public healthcare."
At the subsequent meeting, the National Medical Center identified key medical issues including the operation of a metropolitan emergency medical situation room, restructuring of the emergency medical delivery system, and clarification of the emergency medical control tower.
