Silla University (President Heo Namsik) operates the Sajik Daycare Center for the Disabled, which recently conducted a cultural and arts field trip for adults with developmental disabilities.
On August 29, the Sajik Daycare Center for the Disabled visited 'Arte Museum Busan' located in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, to allow participants to experience various art genres and enhance their self-expression through cultural and artistic appreciation.
Adults with developmental disabilities who viewed the impressive media art works at Arte Museum expressed a range of emotions such as amazement and joy, and directly shared their impressions by saying, "There is a sun, it rains, and the works are wonderful."
A volunteer who participated in the Arte Museum tour shared, "Watching the adults with developmental disabilities enjoy themselves while viewing the exhibits and taking photos, I hope they will be given more opportunities to experience new things and access a wide range of cultural and artistic activities."
Seok Changhwa, Director of the Sajik Daycare Center for the Disabled, stated, "Through art support, it was a great opportunity for adults with developmental disabilities to experience culture and art, express themselves freely, and create precious memories," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide diverse artistic opportunities and reduce social prejudice."
The Sajik Daycare Center for the Disabled was selected for the 'Arts Education Support Project Art Nuri Project' and has been conducting a theater program titled 'Picture Book Theater Journey to Find Myself' from May to November, carrying out activities to enhance self-expression and provide cultural and artistic opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
