On the 3rd (local time), American golf media Golf Digest reported that Scheffler's prize money this year is the second highest income among athletes in American professional sports, following Shohei Ohtani (LA Dodgers) of Major League Baseball. Advertising revenue was excluded from this announcement.

Scheffler secured his 7th win of the season by winning the Tour Championship, the final event of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup Playoffs, which ended on the 2nd. He earned official prize money of $29,228,357. Adding the Tour Championship bonus prize of $25 million and the Comcast bonus prize of $8 million, his total prize earnings this year amount to $62.3 million (approximately 83.5 billion KRW).

Ohtani ranked 1st in earnings among American sports athletes. He signed a super contract worth $700 million over 10 years with the Dodgers for the 2024 season. His salary this year is $70 million. However, Ohtani agreed to receive $68 million of his $70 million salary spread out over 10 years, so his actual salary received this year is $2 million.

The athlete with earnings similar to Scheffler this year is Max Verstappen (Netherlands) from Formula One (F1) racing. His income is $55 million. Top Major League Baseball pitchers Justin Verlander (Houston Astros) and Max Scherzer (Texas Rangers) each earned $43.3 million. Among position players, the highest salary was Aaron Judge (New York Yankees) with $40 million.
