1617 Students Selected in Rolling Admissions
New Cyber Defense Department Established, Recruiting 16 Students
Sejong University will select 1,617 students, accounting for 55.2% of the total recruitment, in the 2025 academic year early admission. New students will be admitted to newly established departments such as military contract departments and advanced departments.
393 students will be admitted through the Student Record Screening (Regional Balance, Aeronautical Systems Engineering), 774 through the Comprehensive Student Record Screening, 340 through the Essay Excellence Screening, and 110 through Practical Skills and Achievements Screening.
The Sejong Creative Talent Screening (Interview Type), a comprehensive student record screening, selects 3 to 4 times the number of recruits in the first stage based on 100% document evaluation, then in the second stage, final selection is made by reflecting 70% of the first stage score and 30% of the interview test. The Sejong Creative Talent Screening (Document Type) is conducted with 100% document evaluation for both humanities and natural sciences. Neither screening requires a minimum CSAT score.
The Regional Balance Screening is open to applicants recommended by their high school principal, with no limit on the number of recommendations per school. The minimum CSAT score requirement is a combined grade of 6 or less in two subjects among Korean, Mathematics, English, and Inquiry (one subject from Social Studies/Science), and for the Division of Liberal Arts, a combined grade of 5 or less.
Sejong University has established two advanced departments, the Department of Intelligent Information Convergence and the Department of Content Software, for the 2025 academic year early admission. The Department of Intelligent Information Convergence aims to cultivate core personnel for next-generation Internet of Things and will recruit 77 students through early admission. The Department of Content Software aims to train software technology developers who can support the development of advanced content industries such as VR, AR, Metaverse, and games, and will select 48 students.
Similarly, the newly established Division of Liberal Arts will select 223 students through the Regional Balance Screening. The detailed reflection ratio of academic grades only includes Korean, Mathematics, and English subjects, with a weighting of 80% for common/general elective subjects and 20% for career elective subjects.
The Department of Cyber Defense, a contract department established through an agreement with the Army, will select 16 students. It aims to train cyber security army officers who will lead the safety and technological advancement of Korea’s cyber defense. New students are selected through the comprehensive student record screening, with three times the number of candidates selected in the first stage based on document evaluation, and final acceptance determined in the second stage through the first stage score, interview evaluation, physical fitness test, and an Army Headquarters-conducted screening (pass/fail judgment).
